Text Box: FELLOWSHIP HOUR—November 11th
The families of TYLER BOKMAN and JJ HAUMSCHILD will be hosting the fellowship hour in honor of their sons who have worked very hard to reach the rank of EAGLE SCOUT.

TYLER ROBERT BOKMAN received his Eagle Scout Award on Sept. 29, 2007. His scouting experience had a rocky start at rookie camp with nasty and freezing weather. However, he was not discouraged by this and continue to prevail. After rookie camp, there were many other more enjoyable trips and activities. Tyler’s favorite scouting memory would have to be the weeks spent at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation for summer camp, where he earned his mile swim award along with his fourth year pipestone honor. He plans to return to obtain his fifth year honor. He is currently looking forward to visiting the Florida Sea Base in the summer of ‘08.

Tyler attends Olmsted Falls High School were he is a sophomore maintaining a 3.85 grade average. Jazz Band and Chemistry are his two favorite classes this year. He is an active member of NECC and our youth program. Last year he participated in his first Mission Work Camp in Canada. He is a member of the Visioning Team and serves as a Deacon.

He enjoys running on the cross-country team and this year he earned his first athletic letter by running on the varsity squad. Upon graduation, he plans to attend college to earn his bachelor’s degree in music with a master’s degree in teaching and is currently interested in Ohio University.

GEROLD (JJ) HAUMSCHILD trail to Eagle Scout began as a Tiger Cub in Columbia Station. Highlights from his scouting career include five years attending Seven Ranges Summer Camp (allowing him to earn his fifth year Pipestone), camping on a Navy ship in Buffalo, New York and rappelling at Laurel Caverns. JJ is looking forward to traveling to Tinnerman Canoe Base in Canada this year and Florida Sea Base in 2008.

JJ is a sophomore at Olmsted Falls High School and is active in marching band, swimming and track. Time spent with a part time job, NECC youth group, and family traveling keeps him busy.

Helping the kids at the Cleveland Christian Home was the basis of JJ’s Eagle project. Several rooms in need of refurbishing received attention, including painting, and installing lights and shelves with the help of the members of his troop.

After high school, he plans to attend an engineering school under an Air Force or Navy ROTC Scholarship and is interested in becoming a chemical or biological engineer. He plans to keep close to scouting in the future.
