Harry has been here many times and we always look forward to his return to North Eaton Christian Church. We will be making our financial commitment to the church as PART OF OUR WORSHIP SERVICE. “Return to God what is His” is an important part of our worship that reminds us how much we owe to God. May the Holy Spirit transform this act of giving into a time of spiritual blessing. Join us at 12:00 (noon) for a catered celebration lunch. Bring the whole family as we celebrate together! Text Box: Christian Women’s Fellowship We had our annual salad buffet dinner on October 17th. Judy Ponting installed the Circle Presidents; Marge Houston President of Rebekah Circle and Fran Early President of Esther Circle. We have no CWF officers for 2008. A discussion was held on monies left over at the end of the year and the future of CWF. Cindy Thompson and Chris Hensley have already agreed to be in charge of the monies to be put into a fund for the Kitchen Only at this time. Carol Busche will continue to be in charge of the Chinese Auction. We have no one to continue the Bazaar at this time. Please remember our Annual Old Fashion Christmas Bazaar to be held on November 10th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Christmas CWF Dinner will be held on December 6th at 6:00 p.m., ladies, mark your calendar now. There will be entertainment and singing. A babysitter will be available for the children. There will be no charge for the dinner but we do ask that you make a reservation by calling the church office, if you plan to attend. The menu is ham, potatoes, vegetables and of course, dessert! (A true head count will help us purchase the right amount of food.) In experiencing politics and community building as a part of ministry, I felt called to further integrate faith and public service. The Disciples Divinity House of the University of Chicago offered a way to respond to this calling: a dual master’s degree program in ministry and public policy. After graduating, my calling was confirmed by the invitation of Marian Wright Edelman, the founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund, to become their Religious Action Coordinator. This position is a perfect fit for my interests, my calling, and my preparation.
