Text Box: Dear God,
There is an ad on TV from Staples telling us that what ever we need, all we have to do is push the "Easy" button. The big red "Easy" button is right there to take care of our every need. What ever the need, just push the red button and it will be taken care of.
My mother taught me that anything worth striving for was not easy. If it was worth something, then I had to work to achieve the goal. Nothing is easy.
I have watched this in a mother giving birth. Labor is hard but through the pain of childbirth comes the great reward. Even the Piper family who is waiting for their son in Guatemala, realize adoption is not easy.
I have sat with people who are dying, holding their hand and praying with them. Sometimes dying is not easy.
We are on our second remodeling project. First was the kitchen and that really was not easy. After months of frustration the finished project is beautiful, everything I need to prepare meals and serve family and friends. Now we are remodeling the downstairs bathroom, and even though I learned from the past, it really is not easy!
No, nothing valuable worth having is easy, for even our Lord Jesus who was obedient to You, suffered and died and was resurrected for us. Nothing in this world can compare to that.
We can all dream of having a big red "Easy" button but I don't think it would be worth it. There are no lessons to be learned when every thing is so easy.
Haggai 2:4b; " take courage all you people of the land, says the Lord: work, for I am with you, says the Lord of hosts."
											Love, Judy
