Text Box: COLLIN BONDING Fridays have always been my day off. Most people have discovered that I have been very flexible with observing a clear “hands off” day. It has always been my feeling that I should be available to people whether it was a day off or not. There is a new factor in my life. It’s the “grandson factor”. Fridays will be the day I watch Collin. He is just 6 months old and will require my undivided attention. If you have a situation where a minister is needed, Judy Ponting is available. We are very fortunate to have Judy as a part of the ministering staff. Paul ****************************************** TELEPHONE CHANGES FOR MINISTER There was a time when I said I would ever have a pager and certainly never a cell phone. That is just one more clear indication that my abilities to predict the future are seriously limited. I have now had a cell phone for several years. The cell phone has become such an essential part of my ministry that we are canceling the parsonage ground phone and converting completely to a cell phone. The parsonage phone has become the primary means for advertisers and political campaigners to leave their promotion messages. It is seldom used by church members. Beginning in September, the parsonage phone will be cancelled and the cell phone will become the way to contact me. The cell phone will be turned on most of the time. Please understand that there are some situations where it must be off. The voice mail will be available. In addition to my cell phone, my home phone in Brunswick will remain available for any church needs. We didn’t have a large group this summer, but we had faithful attendees. We’d like to see our numbers grow. With many families having both parents working, we’d like to try to accommodate as many schedules as possible. These little get-togethers are nice for the children but wonderful for the parents. Please try to attend one or all of the following dates. We look forward to seeing you there. September Dates Weekend Play Date: Saturday, September 8th at Huntington Beach Park in Bay Village (No Rain Date). We’ll meet there at 10:00 (or as soon as you can) and break for lunch around noon. Items to bring: lunch, sand toys, towels, swimsuits (maybe). Morning Play Date: Monday, September 17th will be hosted by Jennifer Hayward at the Church in either the nursery or Grandpa’s Playground. We’ll meet at 11:00 and break for lunch around noon. Evening Play Date: Thursday, September 27th will be hosted by the Hensley’s at their home—36620 State Route 303, Grafton. We will meet at 6:00. Please bring an appetizer or finger food to share. REMEMBER ….. Dads and Grandparents are more than welcome too—not just Moms.
