Text Box: WHO’S WHO – Robin Galvin
Sunday School Superintendent

Robin Galvin currently lives in Columbia Station with her husband, Jim and their two children Samantha and J. Dean. She is proud to say that she has lived there nine and a half years, longer than she has lived in any one place, due to being a product of three broken marriages on each side.

Jim and Robin were married in the North Eaton Christian Church by Dr. Paul Durbin. And yes, she is very thankful to God for keeping her marriage sacred and protected. Robin has learned that it’s very important to pray over our families and our marriages. God has the power, knowledge, and guidance to help make a marriage work!

Robin currently works for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Medina as a secretary. It is an awesome job that through prayer, God led her to.

While attending church, she actually had several huge positive influences in her life. As a child, her mother took her to church religiously every Sunday. She accepted Christ as her savior at age 4 or 5. Her step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson took her to church every chance they could. Robin was actually baptized in a river by their church when she was 12 years old. And in her later teens and early adulthood, Robin’s grandmother Dorothy Gould, was an upstanding Christian woman whom she respected and confided in. Into her twenties, Robin was not practicing serving God.

When Robin started working at the Medina Driver’s Exam Station, her co-worker Viola Price, was always reading her Bible and doing studies. Her devotion caught Robin’s curiosity and filled a desire and need that she had to draw closer to God. Robin would bring the kids to church once in awhile. But when Samantha turned three, it hit her “that my babies were growing up, if I didn’t take them to church where they could learn about God, it would be too late once they became teenagers”.

The journey is a process that Robin has been striving to read, pray, and practice in her daily living. She thanks God that he never gave up on her and that he’s always provided his people to offer guidance.

She enjoys all of the seasons, but summer is probably her favorite because her family loves to go camping. Robin’s favorite thing to do is to be with her family!
