Text Box: SUMMER WITH A BANG!

The summer is such a busy time of the year in people’s lives that it is most difficult to schedule events. The family reunions, vacations, graduation parties, picnics, camping, boating, car shows, cruises, days at the beach, all compete for our time. It was so very pleasing to see so many people take part in the life of the church on the weekend of June 23rd. Two families opened their doors to the young people performing a concert at the Washington Avenue Christian Church. Ten church people took part in an all day, into the evening, project of putting a new roof on Jim Swartz’s home. Twenty four church members from NECC took part in the Car/Bike cruise to Milan for lunch and back home by way of Norwalk. In addition to the twenty four NECC members there were eight from Columbia United Methodist Church. It was a wonderful day spent with good friends from the church. I appreciate all those who worked so very hard to make the events such successful experiences.

VISIONING TEAM

August 21st is the next Visioning Team meeting in the Visioning process lead by Dr. Hamm. The Prayer Triplets are finishing their reports and sending them off to Dr. Hamm for his review. He will use those reports to assist him in constructing some church models for our consideration. This will be the first meeting of the team to give consideration to some possible futures to be presented to the congregation at a later date. The willingness of so many people to be involved in the prayer triplet process is greatly appreciated and has been valuable to the work that will be done as we proceed. Please continue in prayer for NECC over the next several months.

Visioning Team please keep August 21st open. You will be contacted as to the time and place.
