Natalie Blaine who died on May 13th. She was a faithful and dedicated member of our church and the Rebekah Circle for many years.
Gladys Yost died on May 22, 2007. While Gladys lived with Gene and Nancy she attended worship, the Tuesday morning breakfast group, and Rebekah Circle with Nancy.
A private graveside service was held for Jean Hinkel on June 25th at Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
Our church was blessed to have these three ladies in our family.
Text Box: Dear God,
Ever since I can remember, I have been a night person. As a child my favorite thing was to read a book under the covers when I was supposed to be in bed sleeping. The flashlight provided enough light to read by, but it also lit up the covers, which was a giveaway to Mom. She would confiscate the flashlight, and that ended one night’s reading.
I have always loved sitting in the dark watching the sky as the clouds move and the night animals come out. Watching the bats leave the safety of the woods in our back yard is fascinating. Then the darkness is lit with a multitude of fireflies and our resident frog starts serenading whomever is listen.
For three night this past week I sat in the darkness watching the International space station move across the night sky. It came from the northeast and in three minutes had crossed over and was out of sight. The first night I could see the space capsule which was disconnected and following behind.
There wasn't a sound, no flashing lights, just silence as I watched in wonder that a machine that large could travel 1700 mph in full view of the world. Sometimes I can't believe that You created us with the ability to do such amazing things.
I have always been bothered by the scriptures that tell us to "curse the darkness", "walk in the light" and others. Now I realize that I misunderstood what You were telling us. There is evil that can be covered by darkness, but there is also a great liberating when the external things are covered and in the stillness of the night we can appreciate Your wonders.
I will always love night time, the quiet and awe of another world not seen in the day. I still love to clean, read, and cook at night. Thank you for night, a time to work, pray, and enjoy your wonders.
Matthew 10:27 ; " What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the housetops."
												Love, Judy
