Text Box: PLANNING DAY--- JANUARY 6TH
9A.M. –3 P.M.———–FELLOWSHIP HALL
EVERYONE INVITED ---- (Members and friends of NECC)

On January 6th NECC is having its first annual planning day. The purpose of this day is to create a calendar for church programs. The program areas that committees and fellowship groups have already planned for 2007 will not be changed. This meeting is to get as much input from the congregation as to programs we would like to initiate for 2007. At the meeting, we will identify the need, design a program, and identify the people who will lead and carry out the program, and set a date for the program.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting. The program areas will reflect the various committees in the church. (Christian Education, Evangelism, Membership, Stewardship, World Outreach, Worship, Men and Women’s ministries (not CWH, CMF,CMIA). Those who attendance will be able to choose their area of interest and then assist in the planning and the implementation of the program.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
PLEASE PLAN ON COMING FOR THE DAY AND HELP THE CHURCH PLAN A MEANINGFUL CALENDAR OF CHRISTIAN WITNESS FOR 2007.
Text Box: NEW FINANCIAL SECRETARY 2007 ——Laura Kuhn
If you need a 2006 financial statement for tax purposes, please let me know as soon as possible.

The 2007 OFFERING ENVELOPES are on the table in the fellowship hall, by the fireplace. PLEASE destroy any old envelopes you may have. If you did not receive envelopes and would like to have you own please contact Laura Kuhn at 327-5219 or at randykuhn@hotmail.com. Call the church office, 748-2230, if you are unable to pick up your envelopes and we will mail them to you.

FYI……...If you miss a Sunday, or you want to mail in your offering for more than one week, you need only to send in one envelope. The total enclosed will be applied to your statement as one amount no matter how many envelopes you submit. If you mark “other” on your offering envelope, please explain what “other” means to you. After 13 years, Shari Hales knew what that meant, but I am still learning.

“I would like to personally thank Shari Hales for all her help and for serving as Church Financial Secretary for 13 years.” Laura Kuhn

Text Box: WHO’S WHO – STUART HICKS (Interviewed by—Carol Bokman)
Stuart Hicks currently resides in North Ridgeville with his wife, Bonnie and son, Dan. They moved to North Ridgeville from Cuyahoga Heights about 12 years ago. Stu grew up in Fairview Park but lived in both Florida and Iowa after getting married.
During the past 12 years attending NECC, Stu has “guest taught” the Genesis class, led the Voyagers class for the 5 years they were together, and has been on the Senior High class rotation for 2 years. In Cuyahoga Falls he taught the Senior High class for 8 years.
Stu is an Electrical Engineer, working for a Consulting firm in Cleveland. He designs automated equipment and data collection systems. He also designs the software that lets machine operators visualize and control manufacturing lines.
No matter how busy his life may get, he always makes sure part of his time is spent being active in his church. He used to sing in a barbershop quartet, but it began to be too much. Lately, he has been helping various members of his family move from city to city (fortunately, all in Ohio). Stu also enjoys eating seafood and the ‘colors and smells’ of autumn.
During his teenage years, the biggest influence in his spiritual life was the youth minister, Tom. He held a weekly bible study and group prayer meeting. This group grew from 4 to 30 in a year. It was a powerful and lasting experience. Stu feels that he has been allowed to understand some of how God works in our world (many things we explain as science). But God works through us in an active way, and sometimes we get to know it when it happens.
Stu says, “I love teaching because you can see the results immediately, like the way someone snaps to alertness when something ‘clicks’ and they understand something {you said} for the first time. Sometimes you get to see these people grow up into leaders or teachers wanting to... pass it forward.”
