Judy Ponting

Judy Ponting, a licensed minister, is serving the North Eaton Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as Minister of Pastoral Care. This is a position she has held since 1992.
Other ways she has served this congregation include teaching an adult Sunday School class,
serving on the Diaconate and as an Elder, and leading classes and services in Healing and Meditation and Prayer.

Judy has attended Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky since 1993, participating in its Lay Minister program. In 2003, she received her Certificate in Ministry from the Seminary.
Additional coursework has included Grief Counseling, Pastoral Care and Leadership.
This has led her to leading workshops in the Ohio Region's District 2 on "Hope and Healing in Death."

A thirty-three-year attendee of the Christian Woman's Ministry Fall Retreat at Camp Christian,
Judy has served on its executive comittee, led the Retreat and served twice as Chaplain (1998 and 2004).

Pulpit supply has taken Judy to 18 different churches in Ohio in addition to serving
at North Eaton when the senior pastor is gone. Judy finds it exciting to visit other churches;
her travels lead to many new friendships that are lasting.

Judy and her husband, Jim, have been married since October 12, 1958.
They have three grown daughters and five grandchildren who are the loves of their lives.
Jim takes care of their three acres of yard and Judy tends the flowers.
She loves to read when there is time, and has traveled to England and the United Kingdom six times.
While there, Judy explores the cathedrals; and Jim, the golf courses.
