Groups

NECC offers personal relationships, involvement and activism through a variety of groups:

• Children's Choir - meets 10:30-10:45 a.m. each Sunday, except fellowship Sundays
• Worship Band - meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
• Worship Singers - meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
• Sunday School classes - meet Sundays at 10:45 a.m.
• Boy Scouts - meet various days and times (see calendar)
• Girl Scouts - meet various days and times (see calendar)
• Junior Youth Fellowship (for youth in Gr. 3-5) - meets 2nd and 4th Wednesdays each month, 6:30-8 p.m.
• Chi Rho (for youth in Gr. 6-8) - meets 1st and 3rd Sundays each month, 5-7 p.m.
• Christian Youth Fellowship (for youth in Gr. 9-12) - meets 2nd and 4th Sunday each month, 6-8 p.m.
• Young Adults Group (for post-high-school adults through age 29) - meets occasionally for fun and fellowship (see calendar)
• Women's Ministries - several groups which meet monthly or weekly (see calendar)
• Christian Men in Action - meets occasional Saturdays for home-repair projects (see calendar)
• The Good Time Girls (mature women and widows) - meets monthly for lunch at area restaurants (see calendar)
• Gardening Group - no set meetings; self-determined individual gardening within a common area
• Volleyball Team - meets Thursday evenings in the summer
• Bowling Team - meets Tuesday evenings in the Fall/Winter
• Scrapbooking/Handcrafts/Knitting Groups - meets select Wednesdays (see calendar)
• Elders - elected spiritual leaders of the congregation - meets first Wednesday of each month
• Diaconate - elected service positions - help lead worship services in monthly shifts
• Trustees - elected positions - help maintain NECC's building and grounds - meet last Sunday of each month, 8 a.m.
• Christian Education Committee - steers educational programs and Bible study opportunities for children, youth and adults - meets as needed (see calendar)
• Evangelism Committee - promotes the spread of Jesus Christ's Good News and the care of visitors
• Membership Committee - promotes friendships within the congregation through fun activities
• Memorial Committee - determines appropriate purchases from memorial funds - meets as needed (see calendar)
• Outreach Committee - promotes denominational outreach efforts and special offerings - meets as needed (see calendar)
• Promotion Committee - maintains publicity efforts of NECC through print, broadcast, electronic, and other media - meets as needed (see calendar)
• Stewardship Committee - promotes the healthy grace response trio of time, talents and treasure - meets as needed (see calendar)
• Worship Committee - helps develop meaningful worship experiences and oversees all components thereof - meets as needed (see calendar)
• Council - voting members comprised of Elders and Diaconate members and Chairs of above-listed committees - meets the second Sunday bi-monthly (February, April, June, August, October, and December), at 12 noon. Meetings are open to all NECC members.
• Strategic Plan Steering Committee - appointed committee - meets monthly to assess goals and action needed as guided by NECC's Strategic Plan (see calendar)
• Special programs/activities: - Community Easter Egg Hunt/Race (March/April) - Chinese Auction (April) - Church Picnic (August) - Lorain County Fair Booth (August) - Christmas in the Country Bazaar (November) - Breakfast with Santa (December)
